Maths Listening Skills
considering majoring in economics…. i need more info?
what kind of things do you learn about? what skills do you need? (e.g. math skills, people skills, listening skills, etc)
In economics you will learn about societies allocate scarce resources which have alternative uses. You will study business, types of markets, supply, demand, opportunity costs, natural resource allocation, public choice to name but a few areas. You only need basic math skills to begin but an aptitude for math is essential to progress beyond an introduction. If you were to major in economics, you would develop these skills as you progress through your coursework. Keep an eye on your career path and design your program to meet that goal. If you want to work at a university, a minor or double major in mathematics is helpful to lay the foundation for graduate work. Thankfully, an economics major prepares one for many different careers in banking, finance, and industry.
