Help – Applying to good university with low predicted grades…?
Hi,
Well basically i’m going to have to apply to university soonish.
I’m looking at Sheffield or Nottingham as my preferred choice, but my predicted grades are well…terrible.
I want to study Computer Science, the entry requirements are ABB
my predicted grades are..
Maths (with mechanics) D
Physics D
ICT C
As far as i know, aside from the personal statement the university bases who they make an offer to based on predicted grades. If this is the case, realistically can i get into Nottingham or Sheffield?
I have some what screwed up my first year of 6th form (c/w being the only strong point), but I’ve learnt my lesson, so i plan to work a hell of alot more next year. Should i make mention of this on my personal statement?
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Apply to as many universities as you are legally able to.
Write a positive personal statement and I am sure someone will take you.
We all make mistakes in life and if you own up to them people are very forgiving and understanding. Hold your head up high and apply. Tell the truth, be remorseful and start university on a positive note.
