Anyone good at Maths involving Probability?
(a) Julie throws a fair red dice and a fair blue dice once. Calculate the probability that Julie gets a six on both the red dice and the blue dice
I’m thinking the answer is 1 or 2/36, not too sure though.
(b) Calculate the probability that Julie gets at least one six.
(Would the answer be the same? Someone please explain!)
well, you have a 1 in 6 chance that one will be six. that’s the answer to b. Then think of them as fractions. 1/6 (one over six). multiply them. you multiply the numerators first (1 * 1 = 1) and that’s the numerator in the answer. then the denominator (6 * 6 = 36) and that’s the denominator in the answer. so you have 1/36. one out of thirty six chance that both die will be 6.
