How important is taking a math class junior year?
I am a Junior in high school and in all advanced classes, i am ahead of the gang and am taking Pre calculus this year.I am not planning on majoring in anything remotely close to the math field and i find this class very difficult. I was wondering if anybody know if not taking any math course my junior year ( but i will be taking a math class senior year) will affect me in anyway.
it sounds like you already are in math this year (you said your in pre calculus?) well anyway, it depends on the colleges you would like to get into, but to selective colleges its very important for you to take 4 years of math in high school, along with the other core subjects. Even if you do not want to pursue math, colleges like to see that you are challenging yourself in all subject areas, it shows that you are ready for college. (the first few years of college includes the 4 main subjects, so you should be ready). also junior year is ACT/SAT year (both have math in the tests), so without math junior year, you may forget some of it, putting you behind for your standardized tests. basically, taking math is very important! good luck!
