2³ + 4² <--
do you just work it out like this -> 2×3 plus 4×2
would 6+8 be the answer or would 14?
i’ve lost all my maths books / revision books and im freaking out for my GCSE tomorrow! xxx

No, common mistake, dont beat yourself up
2³ + 4²
=>2 x 2 x 2 + 4 x 4
=> 8 + 16
=> = 24
2³ + 4² means 2 (to the power of three) + 4 (to the power of two/squared)
