To an extent, it depends on your style and what you like best. Have a look around, or ask your teachers what they think would be good and suit you, they may even order one in for you to buy from the school (that’s what our school did, for some subjects). Personally, I love Letts (CGP irritates me because of the fonts and colours and layouts – I can’t read it/work from it for ages, but I like the humour, and some people love them). However, Letts have loads of different ranges (different styles). For english I used a Collins one, our school had one for sciences (we did OCR twentieth century, and they have their own), for maths I had a Letts one but I can’t find it on their website or on amazon. I think it might be old now. The school ordered a CGP one for us, but I already had mine (bought for like a £1 in poundstretchers, it was the only one there). For languages, the school had BBC Bitesize ones, but I didnt get one. In fact, I didn’t really have that many and I got 9A* and 3A. If you work hard, and make your own revision notes to revise from, then you’ll probably be fine with whatever guides you get in addition.
I don’t think you really have to worry much about it yet. The school ordered them when we were in year 11, or when we were getting up to exams in yr 10. It’s good that you’re preparing early, and it’s a sign that you’re going to work hard, so good luck.
I think you should go to a good bookshop (or a few) sit down and look through some revision guides (just flick through for a sense of if you could stand it for the next year or two), write down the names of the ones you like, and go to your subject teachers and ask if one of those is good, or if there’s something else that is better.
Good luck! I’m sure you’ll do great!
