C1 Maths Book

Can I do my A level Mathematics via Edexcel Books?

I did half of my A level Maths last year getting an E. I know I am capable of an A as i got an A* in GCSE maths without even revising, i mucked my a level up because I missed some lessons and didn’t revise as much as I should have.

I am considering learning at home because it means I can get a part-time job working flexible hours and still do my a-levels.

I am wondering whether, by purchasing Edexcel’s C1, C2, C3 , C4, S1 & M1 books, if I can learn the course myself without extra fees and then pay for my exams at my local centre?

Please reply helpfully as I am currently sat at home with no job and no education but a fair amount of natural ability in Maths that I want to use.

Thanks

James.

Consider first whether you need A level maths for your future career. If you got an E last time, you’re unlikely to significantly improve next time with out significant help but stranger things have happened ;-) If you really need A level maths as a qualification for your future career, consider trying to study it yourself and maybe get some one-to-one tuition to supplement the areas you might struggle with. Think about the costs of the books, the tuition and the exam costs before deciding whether it might be better to take a night school course at your local college that also allows you to work during the day. All the best.
